Force refresh of Start Menu (Start Screen) in Windows 8 after updating contents of Start Menu folder in Explorer

Is there any way, besides reboot, to force the contents of the Start menu in Windows 8 to refresh?

I like to edit and organize my Start menu by going to:

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu

But when I change the contents of that folder, the "All Apps" view on the Start Screen is not refreshed in real time.  I can't figure out any way to refresh it.  Is it possible?

Answer
  1. Press Ctrl-Shift-Escape to show the Task Manager. Click ▼ More Details if needed to expand the display.
  2. On the Processes tab, find Windows Explorer (tip: click anywhere in the list, then type a W to jump there).
  3. With Windows Explorer highlighted, click the Restart button at the bottom of the Task Manager list.
