Question

Q: Can't click windows icon and hot corners not working

For some reason, after using my pc for awhile, I can no longer click/rightclick the windows icon on the bottom left side of the screen. None of the hot spots in any corners work but I can stick click my taskbar or click the windows key botton on the keyboard to get to the start menu. Every time this happens I am forced to restart my computer. It's annoying enough to where I will reinstall if I have to but I would like that to be a last resort.

Answer

A:

hi, you don't need to dig deeper and don't need to change registry value. just restart windows explorer from the task manager.

Did this solve your problem?

Sorry this didn't help.

My friend this is a Windows 8.1 Update 1 bug. Try this steps:

step 1. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ImmersiveShell\EdgeUI

step 2. Set both DisableTLCorner and DisableTRCorner to the data value of 0

step 3. exit and Restart computer

Try this steps and everything is ok :)
