Question

Q: 2-3 Times BSOD Everyday after Upgrading to Windows 8.1

Dear Sir/Madam,

Every since I've upgraded to Windows 8.1, I've encountered multiple BSOD everyday. My McAfee has failed to work properly too and I've just uninstalled it from my laptop completely. The memory dump file can be downloaded at: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/73913010/MEMORY.DMP. Not sure how to view it. Letting experts like you to decode it. It's the Kernel_Data_Inpage_Error and the pc restarted automatically after that. Then, there's the kernel power event 41.

Please do advise what could be the issue here after going through the dump file. Appreciate your kind assistance in this.

Thank you.

Best regards,

Joseph

Answer

A:

Absolutely!

Essentially, anything regarding Asus should be uninstalled as it's not necessary to the functionality of your system, but is just optional software that adds a few features. In our case, with Asus, this software is unfortunately known to cause crashes, hangs, and other conflicts. This is why we call it bloatware, it's just unnecessary.

You can view this software via the Windows 'Uninstall a Program' list in Control Panel, or you can use Revo to help you out - http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html

Now, anything regarding Asus (so for example.... Asus AI Suite, Asus PC Probe, etc) should be uninstalled.
