External HDD is suddenly showing as Raw rather than NTFS?

Hi,

Suddenly my external HDD and 2 backup internal hdd are showing as raw rather than NTFS. I have no idea what may have caused it suddenly or whether it is a bios related issue or something else.

I have connected my external hdd to another pc and it works as it should, so I don't really know where to start from here?

Regards,
John

Answer

Hi John,

Let’s perform Refresh of the operating system. Follow the section “Refresh your PC without affecting your files”:

Note: The apps that came with your PC or you installed from Windows Store will be reinstalled, but any apps you installed from other websites and DVDs will be removed. Windows puts a list of the removed apps on your desktop after refreshing your PC.

Note: If you upgraded your PC from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 and your PC has a Windows 8 recovery partition, refreshing your PC will restore Windows 8. You’ll need to upgrade to Windows 8.1 after the refresh has finished.
