DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE Blue Screen Error

AdamFrankland asked on

Hello! For the past few days I have been having a problem starting up, shutting down, and entering and leaving sleep mode with my computer. I am running Windows 8.1.

BlueScreenView tells me that it is being caused by both the ntoskrnl.exe driver and the iaStorA.sys driver.

Here are the minidumps: https://onedrive.live.com/#cid=E369A75252A36D1A&id=E369A75252A36D1A%21813

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It is, this is such an annoying and troublesome driver. I cannot tell you how many times I see it causing crashes.

1. Try uninstalling whatever it is from Diskeeper that you have installed, because I see loaded drivers from it. It may be causing conflicts:

excfs.sys - Fri Mar 30 15:53:05 2012

excsd.sys - Fri Mar 30 15:52:41 2012

^^ Both Diskeeper Corporation drivers. http://www.condusiv.com/ is the website for Diskeeper.

2. Attempt to manually replace IRST with the generic Windows driver (read through this thread to figure that out).

3. Worst case, since you cannot simply 'uninstall' IRST, if you cannot do #2, do a clean install of Windows and this time DO NOT install Intel Rapid Storage. It's not a necessary driver, and as you see, causes many issues.
