Bluetooth not stable with Windows 8 & Windows Phone 8 after 8.1 update

Since updating to Windows 8.1 my Nokia Lumia 920 will no longer maintain a solid connection to my Windows 8 (Now Windows 8.1 laptop.

Bluetooth still works perfectly for all other devices and it still sees me Lumia 920 however when I connect it will only remain connected for 5-10 seconds the lose connection.

This was perfect until the 8.1 update.

Hi Eric,

1. Do you get any error message when the Windows phone disconnect?

2. Do you face similar issue when you connect the Windows phone through a wired connection?

I would suggest you to run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter to fix the problem. It checks for common problems and makes sure that any new device or hardware connected to your PC is installed correctly.

a. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search.
b. Enter Troubleshooting in the search box, tap or click Troubleshooting, and then tap or click Hardware and Sound.

c. Tap or click Hardware and Devices, and follow the instructions on the screen.

I would also suggest you to post your query in the Windows Phone forum.

Hi there, I just read the thread here. Hoping I could ask someone with the same problem.  I just updated my OS to Win8.1 lately, and i thought the cause of my bluetooth problem has something to do with updating my OS. I have ASUS VIVOBOOk S550C core i5, before I updated my OS i had no problem sending and receiving files from my phone via bluetooth. The problem began after I updated my OS, I could pair up my phone to my laptop but just all in a sudden it would disconnect and connect vice versa again and again saying sending failed. I have checked all the possible cause but really cant trace it up. Is there any way I could fix this? I hope anyone could help me. Please response. thanks.
