Protect Yourself From Tech Support Scams
Tech support scams are an industry-wide issue where scammers trick you into paying for unnecessary
technical support services. You can help protect yourself from scammers by verifying that the contact is a
Microsoft Agent or
Microsoft Employee and that the phone number is an
official
Microsoft global customer service number.
Bluetooth device connects for a few seconds and gets disconnected
My PC (HP Pavilion Slimline S5-1420D with Win 8.1) managed to pair with my bluetooth device (a JBL Flip speaker). However, it got disconnected after a few seconds and I couldn't get it to re-connect. I tried connecting my handphone to the PC and it experienced
the same issue (paired successfully but got disconnected after a few seconds).
This appears to be an issue with Win 8.1: (1) the same devices (JBL Flip and blackberry handphone) failed to connect with with an Acer laptop with Win 8.1 - same issue: successful initial pairing but the connection drops after a few seconds; (2) the same devices
would connect to a Win 7 laptop with no issue; and (3) the same JBL Flip also connects with other mobile phones (blackberry and iPhone) with no issues.
