Windows 8.1 Update 1: Some apps minimize when the splash screen appears.

So, for example, Fruit Ninja (Trial version) minimizes 1 second after the 'Halfbrick Studios' logo appears. This also happens with Jetpack Joyride, and Airport City. I believed the problem was with Halfbrick games, but Airport city does it too. This does not occur with the default windows apps, and doesn't on 'Flappy Bird' or 'Despicable Me: Minion Rush'. Please help, this problem is annoying and I want to play these games, so, any ideas?

Edit: Also happens with the 'Video' app, and god forbid, 'Music', too.

Hi Oliver,

I would suggest you to check if there are any pending updates for the app in Store. If there are updates for the app which you have not yet installed, try installing those updates and then check if it helps.

Method 1: Run the Apps troubleshooter. This tool can automatically identify and fix some problems with apps.

Please go through the following link for troubleshooting further if the troubleshooter does not help:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/what-troubleshoot-problems-app

Method 2: I would suggest you to update the graphic card drivers and check.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/all-drivers

Method 3: If issue persists run the SFC scan. System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) scans for missing or corrupted system files and repairs them.

Use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7

Hope this helps. If you need further assistance with Windows, let us know and will be glad to help.
