Foreign Japanese game not installing installshield 1155

I recently purchased a game online from Japan. When I try to install it installs for a few seconds until it shows what I imagine is an error notice. The box says the game is compatible with WINDOWS XP, WINDOWS VISTA, AND WINDOWS 7. I am using a Toshiba Satellite that has Windows 8. I understand that this would cause compatibility issues but was wondering if I could get around them somehow. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and have a nice day.

You should try installing the game in compatibility mode

To install in compatibility mode do the following:

Right click the installer>properties>compatibility>choose OS

(works in vista, win 7, win 8, and win 10)

I followed the advice given and still ran into the same problem. I noteced in the article you posted the link to it said the wizard is not designed to work on files that have a a .msi name extension which I saw on the error message it does have after "premium box". If there is any further help it will be very appreciated because as you can tell, computers aren't really my strong points.

Games should not be in msi format.  They should be an "exe" file.  Is the game and exe?  have you checked with the developer for new versions, patches, etc?

I have not checked with the developers yet. The only time I noticed .msi was in the screenshot of the error box in the original post. If it helps this is what it looks like on the disk after I open it.

So you have changed the setup to boot into compatibility settings for win 7 and are running the setup as an administrator?  If it still will not load or run you need to contact the developer

I do not know if I have been running the setup as an administrator or how go about doing that. And one more thing I understand that I am not the easiest person to help with this issue so if I am being a bother then just say so and I can seek help elsewhere.

Right click and run as admin. When you open properties and click the compatibility tab there is a check box at the bottom of the properties sheet that has run this program as an admin.

If you still have issues can you open the autorun file and paste the contents here

When I clicked the compatibility tab the "run as an admin" check box was not checkable. At the bottom of the reply under the image attachment is the autorun content.
