Mapped Drive Does Not Show up When Browing from Program

Hi,

I recently installed windows 8.1 and now I cannot browse for my mapped drives from a particular program I am needing to install. The program that I am trying to install has a step where I need to browse for a location on a mapped drive. However, only my C: and D: are showing up in the list. None of my mapped drives show up.

My mapped drives show up fine when going to my computer so I am not sure why they are not showing up when trying to browse to them from another program.

I am the administrator for my PC.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Answer

I figured out what was wrong just in case anybody else runs into this same issue.

I mapped my drives by right clicking on my computer then adding the mapped drive. Well, I had to go back and remap my drives using the command prompt as administrator even though I am already the admin for my PC.

I used the command below to get the mapped drives viewable from the install program.

Ex: net use Drive Letter: \\Server\Path

Thanks,

Mike
