aol mail in windows mail app

I have added my aol account to my windows 8.1 mail app.  However, I want to use the version of aol that has old/new mailboxes.  If I log onto aol.com and login that way it shows old/new mailboxes, but not on my mail app.  How can I get it to do this on the app? thanks!

Let me ask you a few questions to understand the issue better;

  1. When you say, old/new mailboxes, are you referring folders?
  2. Are these folders sub-folders created under inbox?
  3. Are you able to successfully send/receive emails using Mail app?

I would suggest you to try the following methods and check if the folders sync:

Method 1: Download and run the Modern UI App troubleshooter and check.

Method 2: Update your app 
 

Keeping your app up to date is one way to make sure that it keeps working. You’ll see a notification in the Store whenever an update is available for your app.
