Separte devices and drives in windows 8.1.

I am not able to separate DVD-ROM from drives in windows 8.1. I tried every option form sort by and group by but  still dvd-rom and drives are displayed together. In windows 8, all Bluetooth folders an dvd-rom , folders and drives were separately categorized. How can I do this in windows 8.1.

Answer

Right click in the explorer then select Group By -File system

Then it will separate according to file system

i.e    floppy/CD drive -- Unspecified

        local disk -- NTFS

        USB drive -- fat32

If it doesn't satisfy you and you want like previous version

Then you can download OldNewExplorer click Here

Extract the file and Tick the "Use the classical drive grouping in This PC" checkbox

You can also tick "Separate network drives" then click install and restart explorer.

Select Group By -Type ok if you have changed it.
