Windows 8 Error: 0x800700E1

I get this error message consistently when running windows backup under Win 8 build 8250.

Neither Symantec 10.2 nor MSERT (quickscan) could find any evidence of a virus.

This just started happening after upgrade from WIn7 Pro.

The error message (from event log):

Unfortunately no specific file names are identified.

I had the same issue so I installed Cobian Backup and it told me

"Couldn't copy the file "GLOBALROOT\Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy86\Users\Eric\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\6.0\61\1d196c3d-65164140": Operation did not complete successfully because the file contains a virus or potentially unwanted software"

I followed the steps to delete my java cache as mentioned here:
https://www.java.com/en/download/help/cache_virus.xml

After a reboot, I ran the Windows 7 Backup and it ran without error.

Did this solve your problem?

Sorry this didn't help.
