Forza 7 crash on startup

I recently purchased Forza 7 for Windows 10 and for 2 days it worked fine with no problems, however since then I can no longer start the game with the Porsche splash screen appearing for a second when I try to launch it then disappearing. I have tried multiple possible solutions including resetting the game through the Microsoft store and uninstalling the game and reinstalling however have made no progress is there anything else I can do?

Hi Adam,

There are several reasons why you are unable to launch Forza Motorsport 7 on your computer. It is possible that the game installation files are corrupted or your graphics card driver needs an update. To resolve your concern, we recommend that you perform the suggested solutions below:

Solution 1. Update the graphics card driver on your PC.

  1. Select the Start button, type Device Manager, and select it from the list of results.
  2. Expand one of the categories to find the name of your display adapter, then right-click (or tap and hold) it, and select Update Driver. For graphics cards, expand the Display adapters category, right-click your graphics card and select Update Driver.
  3. Select Search automatically for updated driver software.
  4. If Windows doesn't find a new driver, you can try looking for one on the device manufacturer's website and follow their instructions.

If these steps don't work, try reinstalling the driver:

  1. Open the Device Manager.
  2. Right-click (or tap and hold) the name of the display adapter.
  3. Select Uninstall.
  4. Restart your PC and Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.

Solution 2. Click on this link for the steps to perform a clean boot. This process will start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This helps eliminate software conflicts that occur when you install a program or an update or when you run a program in Windows 10.

Solution 3. Reset the game from the Settings menu. This process can help restore corrupted game installation files.

  1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard, and then click the Settings icon.
  2. Select System, and then select Apps & features.
  3. Find the game, and then click on Advanced options.
  4. Click Reset.
  5. Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

Keep us updated with the results after performing the suggested solutions above.

  2. Hit Enter
  3. Right-click the device for which you want to roll back to the previous version of the driver, and then click Properties
  4. Click the Drivers tab.
  5. Click Roll Back Driver
  6. In the Driver Package rollback dialog box, click Yes

After that, restart your computer in normal mode to disable unnecessary apps that run in the background.

  1. Press Windows + R on the keyboard.
  2. Type msconfig, and then click OK.
  3. On the General tab, click the Normal Startup, and then click OK.
  4. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click Restart.
