Setting default player in Windows 10

Original Title : How do I make the Windows DVD Player my default player in Windows 10?

How do I make the Windows DVD Player my default player in Windows 10? When I got the app with the 10 upgrade, I accidentally selected the Toshiba player that came with my laptop & which is not compatible with 10 & won't play DVD's

I understand that you are willing to set Windows DVD Player as default. I will be glad to help you.

Follow below steps to change the default player:

1. Click on Start > Settings > System.

2. Select "Default apps" from the left hand pane.

3. Scroll down until you see "Music Player" and select it.

4. Choose your default player from the list.

5. Similarly select "Video Player" and choose your default player from the list.

It will now become the default player whenever you're using Windows 10.

This did not fix the problem. I followed your instructions & when I got to the "Video Player", it actually already was set for "Windows Media Player". But when I inserted a DVD, the Toshiba player started & then said it was not compatible with this system & did not play it. The problem started when I first started the Media player after getting it after installing Windows 10, it asked what I wanted as my default player. The media player was in the first position, the Toshiba player in the second & I clicked the Toshiba by accident not realizing my cursor was on it & not the windows player.

what are you **** talking about? the screens in my windows 10 do not default to the screens yours does.
