Windows Store Error 0x8e5e0408

Hello world,

I am trying to download the MineCraft Windows 10 Beta from the Store and I keep getting the error code 0x8e5e0408. I have searched around for a solution and haven't come across anything that works.

That was the post that offered the most options for help and none of them worked for me. I tried the command prompt suggestion and ran into the same thing. I also tried the windows app troubleshooter, but that will not work on windows 10 (yet). Along with the troubleshooter I tried the various options on http://windows.microsoft.com/en.us/windows-8/what-troubleshoot-problems-app but much of that is only applicable to 8.1.

I have also tried installing other apps after this. They all worked perfectly, so it is solely this one.

This issue could have occurred due to corrupt system files.
 
I suggest you to perform clean boot and check if the issue persist.
 
Putting your system in Clean Boot state helps in identifying if any third
party applications or startup items are causing the issue. You need to follow
the steps from the article mentioned below to perform a Clean Boot.

Note: The troubleshooting steps in the above link is meant for windows 8,
however, you can use the same for windows 10  as well.

Hi,

I have the same problem. I am running Windows 10 and trying to install Minecraft. When I try or retry to install it downloads, then says restoring data (or something along the lines of that), gets to about 75% installing then shows this error. I tried the clean boot but it didn't fix the problem.

I recommend trying the run command "WSreset".

right click on the start button and select "run" than type in WSreset.
