Windows 10 News App "Service is not currently available"

For several hours today, when the Windows 10 News app is opened on two different PCs, the home screen "My News" displays the message "Service is not currently available" "Please try later.  This occurs on the "All" screen, but when one moves to any other category (US, World, Offbeat, etc.), new stories (1, 2 hours ago) appear normally.

What's up with this?

Hello Scott,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

Did you made any changes to your PC?

Did you see any windows updates installed recently?

I suspect the issue you have experienced might be a temporary one. Check for any available update for News App in Windows Store. If any, please update the same to see if it works.  Before doing the same please do shutdown your PC completely, restart and then go for installing new update for News App from Store.

If problem still persist, try run the built in app troubleshooter to see if it fix the issue.

* Press Windows Key then type ‘troubleshoot’ and select the same from the list

* Select “View all” on the left panel and run “Windows Store Apps” troubleshooter from the list

* Click Advanced, ensure to check Apply repairs automatically and also select Run as administrator

* Click Next and finish the troubleshooting by following the on-screen instructions.

Now go and check if the problem still appears.

Keep us posted if you require further assistance.

I've been having the same issue with the MSN Apps for a few days now.  The Windows Store troubleshooter didn't help.  The problem is clearly on Microsoft's end.

With no activity on my end, it appears this morning (10/25/2015) that the News app is fully functional again.  The main/home/All screen shown at open is now populated with recent stories (1-2 hrs).  Seems to me to have been a server-side issue.  Let's hope it stays resolved.

I've had the "Service is not currently available" error on any MSN app on my Windows 10 surface pro 1 for over a month.

Are there any other solutions besides the Troubleshooter which apparently doesn't work for anyone in this thread?

Is there a known issue on the Microsoft server side?

MSFT Trouble shooter = no effect.  Reinstall Money= no effect.  Reinstall all Apps= no effect.  Reboot'd each time in between.

The tiles are rotating with current affairs or weather, but if you click on one you get "service not currently available".  Been going on for months now.

Win10 with all latest updates.

BTW - worked normally 2 months ago.  Since one of the MSFT updates, it started this junky behavior.

You've described my experience exactly over the past few months.  Was beginning to think I was alone with this issue.

Microsoft are you listening or have these MSN apps been decommissioned?

I am having the same problem.

Troubleshoter, reinistalling, updates etc. All done with no effect.

Tiles show updates for me too.

Would be great to have a statement / progress / solution in MSFTs behalf here.
