Microsoft News App Not Working

The Microsoft News App has stopped working. The Money and Sports app are working fine. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app from the Microsoft store. When I attempt to start the app, instead of a screen with a red background, I get a screen with a black background. Eventually I get a msg that says an error occurred and to refresh the page. That doesn't fix the problem. If you give me an email or text address I could send a video of the problem.

did all the above.  rollback not available, so deleted driver.  During restart the device driver was apparently reloaded automatically as under the "events" tab of the driver it shows an install with todays date.  I repeat that the "news" app is the only one effected.  The "money" app and others all are working as they should.

Could you confirm if this also happens in the default Administrator account?

Open Start
Type: cmd
Right click CMD
Click Run as administrator

At the command prompt, type:
net user administrator /active:yes

Hit Enter

Close command prompt, restart, then try signing into the Administrator account.

Try running the News app again.

done all the above.  no change.  When I try to use the "news" the first thing that comes up is a screen that says "Microsoft News" and then the word "news" changes and goes through 6-7 foreign language displays which I assume  is the word "news" displayed in that language.  Then the pages changes and displays "an error has occurred".  "Try refreshing page". Refreshing does nothing.

File a bug report and hopefully they will look into it and issue a fix:

OK, this is not a single computer problem.  Out of the three computers in my house, two of them have the same problem.  The third initially goes through the black page and changing languages, but then instead of saying there's a problem, it opens the MSN News page like it should.  However, the first two computers have had the latest Win10 updates installed, the third one is doing it now.  I'll bet the third computer will have the same problem when it gets done with the latest update!  M/S strikes again!!

You can launch Google News in your web browser and use it as an alternative until this is fixed. Sorry, but I can't bring water from the moon. Some things will often be broken in Windows 10. The best that can be done is to file a bug report and hope that the issue will be fixed.
