Hyperlinks don't work in windows 10 mail

I am using Mail that comes with Office Student 2016....

I am unable to access hyperlinks within emails I received.  When I click on link I a blank page displays and then I receive a sad face icon and that is it.

To even answer your questions I had to do a copy and paste as nothing happened when I clicked on the 'reply' link.

We have verified that Outlook application is not included in the Office Home and Student 2016. However, if you can check if you're using an Outlook application, we'd like to verify if you've performed the resolution provided on the article we have provided below:

However, if you're encountering the issue while using the default Mail app for Windows 10, we recommend setting Internet Explorer as the default app to open hyperlinks.

To do this, click Start, click Settings (cog icon), click Apps, choose Default apps, in Web browser, select Internet Explorer.
