Setting up Email in Windows 10

I have been trying to set up my email account on my new laptop that is running Windows 10 and Office Home and Student 2016.  I keep getting the following error codes:  0x85030022, 0x85050025, 0x80072f06.  Please how I can fix this.  It is the main reason I have not upgraded my desktop computer from Windows 8 to Windows 10.

This still did not help.  It tells me that there is a problem with the certificate for mail.morrisbb.net.  No option to delete the account appears.

The article you referenced did not help.  I still cannot sync my account.  I had a similar problem when I tried to set up my Outlook Express account on my desktop.  The message I keep getting says there is a problem with the certificate for mail.morrisbb.net.  It says to delete the account and adding again.  No option to delete the account shows up.  My laptop is running Windows 10 and Office Home and Student 2016.  I DO NOT want to speak to a Support Engineer unless they are located in the United States!  I need to get this problem fixed because I will be using my laptop in my home business.

Thank you

Hello Kaye,

As per my understanding you are trying to configure your e-mail account in the Mail app in Windows 10 and in the process you receive the error that there is a problem with the certificate for mail.morrisbb.net. Let me know if I understood it correctly.

If the account is already added in the Mail app then follow the below steps to remove the account:

1. Open Mail app.

2. Click on Settings (gear icon).

3. Select Manage accounts.

4. Click on the account you want to remove.

5. Now select Delete and follow the onscreen instruction.

Let us know if it helps to remove the account. We will be glad to assist you further.

Thank you.

Hello Kaye,

In this case let's uninstall and reinstall Mail app and check if it helps:

There might be a chance that the Mail app may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

  • Open powershell as administrator. Type PowerShell in the search box, right click on it and select run as administrator.

  • Run the command   get-appxpackage *microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps* | remove-appxpackage

  • Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile).

Do let us know the status of the issue, we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you.

Sorry, but I could not find a green tile "Mail, People and Calendar" app in the store.  Another point, my system does not indicate "Outlook Mail", it just shows "Mail".  No reference to Outlook anywhere.

Thank you.

Hello Kaye,

  1. Just to confirm are you facing issue with Mail app in Windows 10 or Office outlook?
  2. When you say Outlook, are you referring to Office outlook or Outlook.com?

If its with Mail app then I would like to inform you that Mail app is a e-mail client in Windows 10 where you can configure all your e-mail accounts and so the name of the application is only Mail app not Outlook Mail.

Once you uninstall the Mail app following the steps which I have provided in the previous post, you can download the Mail app from Windows Store. Just Search with the Mail app name in the search bar of Windows store and install it.

Let us know the required details so that we can assist you better.

Thank you.
