Your Windows License will expire soon

Hi,

Whenever I boot up my PC I get a windows notification saying "Your windows license will expire soon" and I discovered I have a volume key for windows that will expire in a 10 days.

I need to know if my personal data is at risk and if this is urgent issue that needs to be fixed within the 10 days.

What happens (in 10 days) when my license expires? Will I go back to a free windows license, not receive updates, with the classic activate windows watermark and have all my data intact?

- Or will my PC not be functionable/Will I be somewhat locked out from using my PC.

If needed I will buy a genuine license immediately. I am just wondering how urgent this is and what will happen if I don't within the 10 days.

Thanks.

Nothing big. After 10 days, all your customization options will be disabled and will only be enabled after you activate your Windows. Your data will not be deleted, and much more good news, Win10 doesn't mess up with people like Win7. The watermark will show up after it gets deactivated. You won't be blocked from using the PC. You'll still get updates, and a bad news: Defender won't be able to defend against every malware. Trust me, I've killed Microsoft Defender in my brother's device by installing malware unknowingly.😊

If your device is part of a company, you can ask them to activate your device. If this is your personal device, you should immediately buy a genuine license as VLs are completely illegal for non-org users.

Like that, it's easy to malfunction a computer while it's hard to fix it.

Good Day RolandoVisitacion,

My name is Carlo, I am also using Windows 10 pc and community member like you.

You will not lose any files or data in your computer, however if the Windows 10 license expires you cannot use the full potential of your computer.

A watermark will remain at the lower right-hand corner saying Activate Windows.

You will not be able to change the wallpaper, accent colors, themes, lock screen, and so on. Anything related to Personalization will be grayed out or not accessible.
Some apps and features will stop working

What I can suggest is for you to purchase a license so that you can use the full potential of your computer.

Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe.

Sincerely,
Carlo T.
