XBOX 360 wireless receiver manual driver setup.

Hello. All these steps worked for me -
  • Right click on Computer
  • Go to Properties
  • Click on Device Manager
  • Right click on the Unidentified Device
  • Go to Properties
  • Go to the Drive tab
  • Click on Update Driver…
  • Browse my computer for driver software
  • Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
  • Microsoft Common Controller for Window Class
  • Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows Version: 2.1.0.1349 [8/13/2009]
  • Update Driver Warning
  • Click Yes.
But now, when I am at (Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer) -  it wont show any available driver in the list.

I just want to find a solution of this problem!

Hi,

From the image you provided us, continue with these steps.

a) You will need to uncheck the “Show Compatible hardware” box.

b) You will find a list of manufacturers.

c) Select Microsoft and check for the preferred driver.

Check if it helps.

I believe you are connected to a usb 3.0 port. It happened with me also. It was identified as a generic device and hence you cannot find the compatible drivers. Try changing to other usb ports on your computer. If this is a desktop try using the ports on the front.

i am confused with what you have said. You installed the drivers and when you are trying to connect once again it was detected as a unknown device. Is that it ?

Yes , thats right. I use the receiver almost a year and there were not any problems. Maybe I will try to change usb ports.
