Wondershare Helper Compact/WShelper.exe

Hi,

I took a look at my task manager/ startup this morning as recently once I start up my PC, google chrome will run. I remember closing it before shutting down the night before so kinda wondering why this happened. So I checked the taskmng and found this wondershare/wshelper.exe under the command line header. I tried to open file location by following where it leads but couldn't find the folder or whatsoever. So if it's supposed to be there, it isn't! o.o

I don't remember installing this software either.

I also found another app in my program files (86), which I'm not familiar with ( Easyanticheat.exe); I don't even know how it got there!

So thing is, I think I should and want to remove these but not sure if they're linked to other apps or anything like that.

Are these virus or malware? How do things get installed without me knowing it?

Oh also, why is chrome running when PC starts up when it didn't before? Am I missing sometihng?

Advice appreciated! ^^ TIA!!

Wondershare is installed with certain software programs from Pinnacle.
It has been known to cause problems and is potentially a security risk.

Here’s the problem, you will most likely get uninstall errors while trying to remove it. This is the case with most viruses/malware/unwanted programs. I recommend installing and running Malwarebytes on your computer and running a scan.
This will thoroughly remove it along with and other Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUPs). This is a very useful program that I would recommend everyone use on their (Windows) computers.

“Is it safe to remove from my computer or disable startup?”

YES! If you open Windows Task Manager, you can click on the startup tab and see what programs start when Windows starts. You can safely right-click each one and disable them.

If you can find the program in control panel, program and features you can uninstall it as well from there.

Here's the link to download Malwarebytes.

Are you playing online games in your pc? if it's, not you can uninstall it it is safe.

I hope the steps and information above helps. Please let me know how it goes.

Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe.
