Hello,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community Forum.

As per the description, I understand that you are not able to use your Logitech H600 headset with Nuance Dictate 12.0 program. The headset is not getting detected by Windows.

I would appreciate if you can provide us the following information to help us understand the issue better.

  1. Are you getting this issue only while running “Nuance Dragon Dictate”? Does the headset work fine otherwise?
  2. Have you checked connecting the headset to a different computer?
  3. Are you able to get sound from the speaker?

Headsets are generally plug and play devices and the drivers are installed automatically through Windows update when the device is plugged in/connected. Problem arises when windows fails to find and install the accurate driver for the device when the device is plugged in.

Incorrect, missing or corrupt device drivers are the most probable cause of this issue, however there can be other possible reasons like incorrect sound settings, sound card driver, faulty sound device or sound card as well. Let’s try these methods below and check if that solves the problem.

Method 1:

First, I would have you run the following Microsoft fixit to get the problem automatically detected and fixed.

Hardware devices are not working or are not detected in Windows.

Method 2:

Set headphones as a default audio device.

Follow the steps below to set headphones as a default audio device and check.

  1. Right-Click on sound icon in the notification area and select ‘Playback devices’.See if the headphone is detected when plugged in.
  2. If it’s not detected, right-click on the blank area and select “Show Disabled Devices”.
  3. If it gets detected, select the headphone and select “Set Default”.

Check if the headset works now. Proceed with the next method if the issue persists.

Method 3:

Let’s check if the headphone shows-up in Device Manager. If you are not sure how to do that, please follow the steps below:

  1. Click Start, type devmgmt.msc in search box and select devmgmt. This opens the device manager console. Now, click on the triangle for Sound, video and game controllers.
  2. Right-click on the sound device (headset), select properties. There from the driver and details tab you can determine the device and drivers.
  3. If there is any yellow exclamation or a red cross mark on headphone, right-click and update driver.
