I get a popup at the desktop screen when i just turned it on. I then press the update button and it says looking for an update and then gives me an error. i tried to troubleshoot and it then says its fixed but when i tried it again, it just gives me the
same error again. Please help me

Based on the description provided, you are getting an error code 8024800A when you are trying to install a Windows update.
1. Have you made any recent changes to the computer?
It must be difficult when something that is important to you does not work as expected. I will help you fix the issue.
I will give you step by step instructions to get the issue fixed.
a) Press Windows key + X on the desktop screen of the computer.
b) Select Command Prompt (Admin)
c) On the open Command Prompt window copy and paste the commands (all at once) –
net stop wuauserv
net stop cryptSvc
net stop bits
net stop msiserver
ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 catroot2.old
net start wuauserv
net start cryptSvc
net start bits
net start msiserver
d) Wait for the process to complete.
e) Close the Command Prompt.
Now, go to Windows Update and try installing the updates. Check if it helps.
