Windows Update - Failure configuring windows update, reverting changes - Error

I got these updates, you can see my other thread error 80070002, and when I restart I get failure configuring windows update, reverting changes after 90% and it restarts but says that again when it goes up to 90% . It does this 3 times and then I can log in. I don't know what to do, what is this?

This eventually happens to every Windows 7 machine, and is one of the reasons that Windows 7 is actually worse than Vista.  If you're lucky then you can try hitting F8 and selecting "Start in Safe Mode", this will undo the changes and allow you to block all of the Windows updates that recently tried to apply.  If hitting F8 and starting in Safe Mode does not work then you'll have to reload the OS.  

If you need to retrieve files from the machine before reloading the Operating System you can do so with an Ubuntu Linux or Linux Mint Live USB and an external hard drive.
