I just finally got windows 7 installed now I am having trouble with windows update.  I can get some updates to work but not always.  They come back with error codes or it crashes to a blue screen.  I can't run any troubleshooters, or the fix it program all come up with error codes.  Any ideas on how to get this working?

A:

Here are some things you can try CHECKDISK, SFC SCAN and ChEKSUR.

HOW TO CHECK DISK:

Run the SFC /SCANNOW command:

This will check and repair if necessary any critical Windows system files prior to installing.

Click on Start/All programs/Accessories then Right-click on Command Prompt option and select 'Run as administrator'.

At the command prompt enter: SFC /SCANNOW

System Update Readiness Tool for Windows can correct some conditions that cause this error.

If the System Update Readiness Tool does not correct the problem, you'll need to repair Windows.
