Windows update error 0x800f0922

Hi all,

tryng to install update KB5018410, at the end of the process, the system notified that it's impossible to complete the install and that Windows will resume to previous version. Now is a Win 10 Pro 21H2 and this error occurs on a Dell latitude 5580 laptop (Intel i5-6300U CPU).

I tried to resolve with WU troubleshooting, cleaning WU cache and any files inside WU folder stopping and restarting WU agent. With no luck.

Reading discussion around, some had this problem with multi-partition disk systems (win/linux mostly) but it's not my case.

I hope someone can help me, please. I attach today WU log:

Thank you in advance

Matteo

    Hi John,

I thank you for your kind answer. I tried all four proposed solutions but unfortunately none gave results.

WU continues with: "we couldn't complete the updates".

    Kind regards,

    Matteo

    Hello Matteo.P,

Thank you for updating me with that information. I apologize that the above methods did not resolve the issue.

If the issue still persists, Please try performing an In-place Upgrade. It will definitely help in resolving update errors. Performing this can repair broken operating system files while your personal files, settings and installed applications will not be removed.

Download the media creation tool(Click Download tool now) and save it to your computer.

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

Open the tool and select Upgrade this PC now.

Make sure to select Keep personal files and apps.

It might take some time to install Windows 10. Your computer will restart a few times, Make sure you don’t turn off your PC

Kindly let me know if this helps or if you have any further concerns.

    Kind regards,

    John DeV

    Hi John,

I thank you anyway. You don't need to apologize.

I'd like to keep the installation of a clean copy of Windows as last resort.

    Regards,

    Matteo
