Windows update - Computer's WiFi keeps turning off

I recently had done Windows update on 2 of my computers. Since the updates, the WiFI adapter on the devices kept disconnecting from the WiFi. It has only been happening to these two devices, everything else in the house works fine. I tried restarting the router, and the WiFi pod,

When I tried to reconnect to the network, this popped up, making me enter the password each and every time. It only stay connected for about 10 minutes. I rolled my on my WiFi adapter card driver, changed the band selection, same thing.

I went through the event log on the device, and this showed up.

Dear FC Legion11,

Welcome to the Microsoft Community

Based on the information provided, it seems that the issue is related to the Intel Wi-Fi adapter, potentially due to a recent Windows update that might have caused conflicts or introduced bugs. A common Event ID 411 and related driver issues suggest that further troubleshooting is required.

Here's are some suggestions to help resolve the Wi-Fi disconnection problem:

Update Wi-Fi Adapter Driver

Visit the Intel Download Center.

Search for your specific Wi-Fi adapter model (e.g., Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200).

Download the latest driver and install it manually.

After installing the driver, restart your computer to ensure changes take effect.

Adjust Power Management Settings

In Device Manager, right-click on your Wi-Fi adapter and select Properties.

Go to the Power Management tab.

Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

Network Reset:

Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced network setting.

Scroll down to the bottom and click on Network reset.

Follow the on-screen instructions to reset network settings and restart your computer.

Uninstall Windows Updates:

Go to Settings > Windows Update.

Click Update history.

Identify any recent updates that coincide with the onset of the problem.

Click Uninstall updates and select the recent update to remove it.

Clean Boot Your PC

Press Win + R, type msconfig, and press Enter.

Go to the Services tab, check Hide all Microsoft services, and click Disable all.

Go to the Startup tab and click Open Task Manager.

Disable all startup items.

Close Task Manager and go back to System Configuration. Click OK and restart your PC.

Disclaimer: A “clean boot” starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. It helps to determine whether a background service is interfering with your game or program and to isolate the cause of a problem.
These steps of "clean boot" might look complicated at first glance. However, to avoid any trouble for you, please follow them in order and step-by step so that it will help you get back on track.

If the issue persists even after trying these steps, consider reaching out to Intel Support for more specialized assistance.

Best Regards,

Martin | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
