Hi Alex

I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this . . .

Go into the Settings App - Personalisation - LockScreen

Set Background to picture and choose one

Then open Windows File Explorer and paste each of these into the Address Bar one at a time and delete everything in each folder

%USERPROFILE%/AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState\Assets

%USERPROFILE%/AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_cw5n1h2txyewy\Settings

Then right click your Start Button, choose Powershell (admin)

Run (copy and paste) this command and hit Enter

Get-AppxPackage -allusers *ContentDeliveryManager* | foreach {Add-AppxPackage "$($_.InstallLocation)\appxmanifest.xml" -DisableDevelopmentMode -register }

Restart your PC

Go into the Settings App - Personalisation - LockScreen

Set Background to Windows Spotlight

In the second folder, I have to delete the roaming.lock and settings.dat file?

Hi Alex

Sorry, I don't remember asking for that previously . . .

Open the Settings App, go to Privacy - Background Apps

Is that turned on and is the Settings App allowed to run in the background?

While in the Settings App, go to Home - Network and Internet, select your connection and click Properties on that, is your connection set to metered, if so, turn that off

I have Windows 10 version 20H2.  I have no problem with Windows Spotlight after I lock the screen.  However, after I reboot the computer, the screen shows everything (picture and clock) except the picture description (Like what you see? etc.).  Why does the screen description show up in the lock screen but not the reboot screen?  Is there any way to make it show up in the reboot screen too?

Hi Alex

That's all the fixes I know of for Windows Spotlight, if you have done all the above, then all your settings are correct, I honestly have no idea why your Spotlight is not working, it should be after performing the above steps . . .
