Windows PC Sevices scam

On Feb 4, I received a call from Windows PC Services, a company portraying themselves as a Microsoft Partner, offering to retrieve the QuickBooks POS data I lost when upgrading to Windows 10. How they learned of my problem, I do not know. After paying a total of $599.88, they purged my wireless network with mostly free anti-virus software and malware, and I was able to load my data, but just for 1 day. I called Windows PC Services this morning requesting assistance in finding my data, and am still waiting for their reply. Has anyone had a similar experience, and is this company a certified Microsoft Partner?

Answer
It sounds like a scam to me. Anyone who calls to fix a problem you have on your PC when you didn't ask them to is phishing. https://www.microsoft.com/security/online-privacy/avoid-phone-scams.aspx
