Windows not detecting any headphones and microphone in jack port

So a few days ago for some reason my headphones stopped working and I have no idea what to do about it. The methods I've tried:

- Running the troubleshoot tool - In this tool you have to select your headphones and for me they're not even getting detected

- Uninstalling the headphones drivers - There are no headphones drivers there

- Showing hidden and disabled devices in the control panel - I've enabled them and still can't see my headphones

Please someone help me, I want to use windows normally again.

Hi again -

There's no possible way you could have even read all of the links in 8 minutes.
Absolute thoroughness is required in these issues, skipping nothing and asking back if you need any help to complete a step. We often find out later that the fix was the skipped step, so please do not skip any. If you need help performing any step I will help.

Please go back to the top and work your way through the steps in each link, and as I requested post back results for each step in each link, not only three steps out of dozens.

I am standing by here to help.

You said you think the problem might be the headphone 3.5mm jack port? Have you tried plugging anything else into it to confirm this? Do the headphones work in another device?

Try these additional fixes for headphones not working in 3.5mm jack port:

https://nerdschalk.com/headphone-jack-not-worki...

There is an inexpensive converter from 3.5mm female to USB plug, if the headphones are still confirmed to work in other devices.

Keep me posted on your progress as I will be here to help until the case is resolved.

Hi There,

Mine is a earphone + mic with the same 3.5mm plug. It was working fine with my laptop before the latest windows update.

The laptop can only detect the mic, not the earphone.

I tried updating the driver, it was working for 1 night then the next day the issue happened again.

now all drivers are up to date, windows is up to date, All settings are as your instructions, still only the microphone is recognized, the earphone is not. It is definitely because of my earphone because it is still working with my phone.

Need another solution now

Just to be clear, the jack works. My headphones are plugged into it and are functional. Windows does not recognize the mic as being plugged in.

Definition:

Headset has an integrated mic built-in.

Headphone does not have mic.

You have to set it as headset in Realtek HD Audio Manager, Realtek Audio Console, Dell Audio, Waves MaxxAudio Pro or whatever audio configuration app your computer uses.

I'm also facing the same issue. Thought restarting windows with earphones plugged in to the jack temporarly fixes the isuse, if I unplug my hearphones and plug them again, windows doesn't recognize the earphones again.

Is there a permanent fix for this issue?
