Windows Memory Diagnostic Rollback

So this started when I got a WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR BSOD, so I went onto microsoft threads to find solutions, and after going through solutions and the issue still persisting (ie. checking my cpu gpu and other hardware), I thought it mightve been my RAM, so I ran a Windows Memory Diagnostic Test. I was monitoring it the entire time and when it was done, it said 0 issues, and when I tried logging back onto the computer, it logged me back in with no issue but I was back when my computer was in 2020/2021. What I mean by this is that all the drivers are from 2021/2020, my personal files from 2022 onwards are gone and I have no idea how to get my other version back. I tried looking for system restore points but couldn't find any. Is there any solution to this?

Hi Tiendan,

I'm Dyari. Thanks for reaching out. I will be happy to assist you in this regard.

Please go to C:\Windows\Minidump and copy any minidump files you find to your desktop. Afterward, share these files through OneDrive or Google Drive so we can analyze them and identify the specific file that's causing the crash.

So I followed the steps and I got nothing, I looked and the minidump file is enabled, but in file explorer there is nothing. I have no minidump file or MEMORY.DMP file. Its all enabled in advanced settings with the systemroot being MEMORY.DMP

In the meantime, if you are overclocking your PC, try running everything (CPU, GPU, system memory) at their stock speeds. See if the issue is still reproducible. Or, turn off XMP profile or set it to Auto.

Download then install the latest version of BIOS & Chipset drivers from the manufacturer's website.

Test the RAM with the free utility MemTest86, then run a full 8 pass scan to test your RAM for physical errors:

Not sure this will provide much help as the computer crashed on the 1st and 2nd.
I haven't overclocked any of my gear.

Thanks for sharing the log file.

You are correct. There is only log until January 2nd 2021 then it directly jumps to October 3rd 2024 (as shown in the attached image).

It seems your system experienced a partial rollback or Windows update gone wrong,

Please open File Explorer and go to C:\ drive to see if your computer creates Windows.old folder.

Look through the folder for your personal files or older versions of the system that were saved during the rollback.

Please keep me posted.

So I found some of my old data, not in the C drive but the D drive, with there being a Windows folder from 10/1/24 and other apps I had downloaded from this year earlier.

Usually, the data stored in other partitions like D or E will not be affected when a system fails or becomes corrupted. However I noticed that there are many system files inside your D drive. Have you installed Windows on your D drive by any chance? Is D drive on a separate disk? Please right-click on Start > Disk Management > Screenshot it and post it back.

For this version I had windows installed on the C drive, but for the previous ones I had it installed on my D drive.

Please ensure your computer does not boot from your old hard disk which is D drive. If possible, remove it and let the computer only boot from the C drive.

Please keep me posted.
