Windows Media Player Version: 12.0.19041.488

This past 6 month's, Media Player has ceased being able to locate album information for audio CDs.  It used to work, but now it doesn't.  When I request that it finds album info it give's me the Wrong Info an put's a BLACK Picture up as the albums art work an When I find it my self an input the info an Pic then I Sync it to my phone it show's the song but no Picture in the box please help before I Uninstall Windows Media Player.... Please see Below

Download and run this WMP troubleshooter from Microsoft:
http://aka.ms/diag_wmpl10

Try reinstalling Windows Media Player: Type Features in Start Search, open Turn Windows Features On or Off, under Media Features, uncheck Windows Media Player, click OK. Restart PC, then reverse the process to check WMP, OK, restart again to reinstall it.

If it's not present then type Features in search box, choose Manage Optional Features, then if not in list to those to add choose Add a Feature to add it.

OK, continue with the other steps.

I have done all the other step's an still nothing I even went as far as Resetting WMP an nothing... How can I turn off WMP for good & Uninstall it from my PC... I am going to go with VLC instead of having WMP...

When did this start? Did you have WIndows Updates?

This started  6month's ago an no it wasn't due to a Windows Update... Nevermind on VLC it wont let me have Album Art....

Microsoft had, for many years, an agreement with Gracenote (I believe) to supply album info, but that agreement expired and Microsoft elected not to renew it because not enough people were using it. (Microsoft paid for the right to use the database.)

I discovered this when I decided to (finally) rip my CDs to mp3's, too late. Instead, I used Exact Audio Copy, which is really well done software and, at the time, obtained album info from FreeDB.

Unfortunately, FreeDB shut down in March of this year. You can still obtain album info from MusicBrainz, and probably other sources that I'm not aware of since all my CDs are done.

Yes I have an nothing at all I do Have RealPlayer v16 but it wont read my Music at all unless I have WMP on my PC I am willing to do a clean install of WMP an see if that will work I just need the Step's to do it an see if a Clean install of WMP will fix it.....

I wonder if RealPlayer is interfering since it is pretty bloated. If you don't use it maybe you could uninstall it, restart PC and try again with WMP to see if it gets it right.
