Answer
Answer
Hi George,

This issue may have occurred because either a built-in or external webcam is not connected or is incompatible. You should check that your webcam is properly connected.  The list of connected compatible devices can be found by clicking on the "blue button" in the upper left corner in Windows Live Movie Maker, choosing "Options", selecting the "Webcam" tab, and looking at the list called "Available Webcams".

Please check if your system and your webcam meets the requirements for Windows Live Movie Maker.  The webcam must support DirectShow 6.0 and later.  You can use a USB webcam or another video source. Also ensure that webcam is not used by another program or application, by following the steps below:

 1.
Close other applications that have webcam functionalities.
For example, third party Messenger programs and social networking sites that allow webcam functionalities.
 2.
After closing the other applications, try initiating it again.

Thanks,

Gerard G.
