Answer

Right-click on the account name in the folder pane and select Properties.

  • On the Servers tab, ensure that My server requires authentication is selected.
  • On the Advanced tab, for the outgoing mail server, select This server requires a secure connection (SSL) (WLMail and Gmail will work out between themselves how to proceed).
    Change the port to 465.

Click Work offline and remove all unsent messages from your outbox (below the account folders in the folder pane). Close down WLMail and wait a few minutes before re-launching. Then compose a new test message and send it to yourself. Post any new error message in your reply.
