Laptop: HP Pavilion m1-u000 x360 Convertible PC

Version of Windows I Was Trying To Install: Windows 11

Hey John. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, here to help you.

Are you trying to Clean Install or do the inferior Upgrade install? 1) To troubleshoot Upgrade failure problems please post back all results as well as any verbatim error message and number you receive as you work through these troubleshooting steps:

https://windowsreport.com/windows-11-installati... (Avoid ad links which intrude into editorial copy, especially avoid Restoro and Reimage ads)

2) Follow the steps under Download Windows 11 DIsk Image ISO, by clicking the link "Before you Start" at https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/software-downlo....

3) Double click ISO to mount it as a virtual drive, right click Setup to Run as Administrator, follow steps here to Upgrade from ISO:
https://www.thewindowsclub.com/clean-install-or...

4) If failure persists post a screenshot of Disk Management, which I read like a doctor reads X-rays. Follow the steps here so I can see everything needed to advise you: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/foru...

5) If nothing else works look over this guide for doing the vastly superior Clean Install: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-do-clean-ins...

Make sure during the booted install to follow the illustrated steps to delete all partitions down to Unallocated Space to get it cleanest, then click Next to let it auto-create the needed partitions, format them and begin install - this makes it foolproof.

After install expedite all Windows Updates including Optional until no more are offered. Then import any drivers from the PC maker's Support Downloads web page for your model that are newer or branded instead of generic.

Please report back results for each step in every link, so I know what else to suggest. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

I will specify that I am trying to install Windows 11 (besides Windows 10 / trying to dual boot it with Windows 10 / trying to have both Windows 11 and Windows 10 on the laptop ~ along side each other) on my HP Pavilion m1-u000 x360 Convertible PC Laptop. Also, the current version of the laptop is Windows 10 Home.

Also, I think the issue could be that the laptop might not be able to support Windows 11 because of the CPU requirement which the laptop doesn't pass, so how do I bypass the CPU requirement or fix the error if the CPU requirement is the thing that is getting in my way and giving me this error?

John -

It will not activate if it doesn't pass the PC Health Check here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows...

Here is what Microsoft says about this and another leading tutorial showing how to bypass requirements:

Here is the best tutorial on Dual Booting Windows 10 and 11:
https://nerdschalk.com/how-to-dual-boot-windows...

If you have separate hard drives then unplug the one while you install the other and then boot them via the BIOS or the BIOS Boot Menu key. This keeps them independent to come and go as you please.

If on the same hard drive shrink space to install Windows 11, it will configure a dual boot using the System partition of the WIndows 10 install, so they are dependent upon each other. Some have reported they can delete one and the other will keep booting, then remove the boot menu in Msconfig > Boot, but this will have to be tried to know for sure.

Feel free to ask back any questions. Based on the results you post back I may have other suggestions if necessary.
