Windows High Definition Audio Controller Code 10

Hi all, my High Definition Audio Controller shows up in Device Manager with a yellow exclamation mark and has code 10 in its Properties. I can't play any sound at all. I've tried:

-Uninstalling the High Definition Audio Controller and restarting my computer to no avail

-Using Windows Troubleshooter which couldn't identify the problem. It just said "High Definition Audio Controller has a driver problem".

I'm using Windows on a partition in my 2012 Macbook Pro running Mojave. The Windows partition was installed using a bootable USB.

Hi, Deon,

Did audio controller work prior to any recent updates?
This may entail uninstalling an update

Have you the option to Rollback Driver? Try doing so to determine if it does work.

Have you the option to Rollback Driver? Try doing so to determine if it does work.

The audio controller worked a few months ago but I forgot the exact date it stopped working and I forgot if I had updated anything before it stopped working. But anyway I’ve reinstalled Windows twice since then and the problem is still there. I’ll check to see if I have the option to Rollback Driver.

did you reinstalled manufcaturer recommenneded driver say relatek or via or other brand hd audio driver ?

if not means , installe only recommended driver with associated softwares

This is where you will find the log for driver installations.
C:\Windows\inf\setupapi.dev.log
Look for the previous version

Go to Microsoft Update Catalog and download the previous driver. Do not run the installation. Save it to your Documents Drivers Folder (create the folder first > Ensure you've unzipped the file.

Use the pnpputil.exe utility to remove the current driver from the drivers store

Right click on Start > Select Device Manager
Right click on the driver > Select Update
On the screen Select > Browse my computer for software
Select Drivers Folder > Click Next
The driver will be installed

Look at the Log. It should be the driver (installation date). It should be (installation date) before the current driver version you currently have installed.
