Games keep crashing instantly after update, anyone have a fix for above issue?

Hi and thanks for reaching out.,

My name is Katrina Green, I'm an Independent Advisor.

Solution 1

As an initial recommendation, Please use the Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter, which is a built-in troubleshooter specifically built to find and fix common hardware issues. To do this, follow these steps:

Click Start.
Go to Settings.
Click Update & Security.
Click Troubleshoot.
Click Hardware & Devices from the list.
Click Run the troubleshooter.

Solution 2

If you are still getting problems then,

Follow this Procedure-

1 In the left corner of PC you will see a search Box type in this Device manager.

2 Here click on Display adapters.

3 Under this you will see various devices

4 Simply Right click on them one by one and choose uninstall device.

5 After that restart the PC.

6 This will reset them to defaults and windows will save the settings after you will restart and will load with default drivers.

This will resolve your problems.

Note - Don't tick the option to delete the Device software if popped up.

Solution 3
How to Run Memory Diagnostics-

Memory corruption can also cause errors such as blue screen errors.
Running memory diagnostics can fix it.

1 On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key + R together to invoke the Run box
or simply open the Run from start menu.
Type mdsched.exe and press Enter.

2 Click Restart now and check for problems.

3 Now Windows will check the memory automatically. Wait till the testing 100% completes.

4 After the testing, Windows will restart automatically
This will fix all errors.

Let me know if you are still facing any problems, Thank you.

Hi, thanks for your reply

I don't have the hardware trouble shooter listed where mentioned. "'no recommended trouble shooters at the moment" is all it says. (this is a fresh install of windows from yesterday.)

in regards to solution 2, I have already done full clean installs of graphic drivers, even rolled back to older ones but still same issue. this leads me to think it is a windows problem not a graphics driver problem.

solution 3 i have also already done, ram is all good.

i apologies i should have mentioned that i have already done all the normal troubleshooting as well as a clean install only to get the same problems. this has started happening in the last week since windows and nvidia drivers updated.

Please see image attached.

Please follow the below procedure.

Method 1

How to run SFC scannow in Windows 10,

The SFC might resolve many system errors, including blue screen issues. This is how you can run an SFC scan in Windows.

1 In the left corner of PC you will see a search Box type in this command prompt.
2 Click Command Prompt (Admin) to open the Command Prompt as an administrator.
3 When Command Prompt opens, Enter
sfc/scannow
and press Enter.
4 The repair process will now start. Don’t close Command Prompt or interrupt the repair process. The repair process can take a while, so wait patiently while it completes.
5 When the SFC scan is complete, the Command Prompt might state, “Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them.” If that’s the case, restart Windows.

Method 2

Run a Disk Check.

One of the first hardware components you need to check is the hard disk. A hard drive with a corrupted can cause various problems for your computer and it is possible that it would lead to a LiveKernelEvent Code: 141 error. Fortunately, Windows 10 is equipped with a tool, called CHKDSK, built to scan and fix hard drives automatically.

To perform a disk check, follow the instructions below:

1 Press Windows + X to bring up the Power menu.

2 Hold the A key, then click Windows PowerShell to run it in administrative mode.

3 Click Yes to confirm the launch.

Type in the following command: chkdsk c: /f /r /x (C: refers to the disk you want to check).

4 Press Enter.

Let the tool run its diagnostic process and wait for the results. CHKDSK should repair any error it encounters, otherwise it will provide you with more information or further instructions at the end.

If you are still getting problems please perform system restore to a previous time when everything was working great.

Please try to install windows again and check for your issues. If the window's clean installation resolves your issue then its not hardware failure. Otherwise you need to take your PC/laptop to the nearest service center for hardware failure repair.
Thank you.
Have a good day.
