Windows Defender message always show in Action Center

There is a "Windows Defender needs to scan your computer" message that always show in Action Center, even right after I press the "Scan Now" button and I let the Windows Defender do its job.

I think this is not the normal behavior of this alert, but I can't make it disappear. Any help will be appreciated!!

Do you have installed another security or anti virus software ?

Yes! I use Avira Antivir Premium (http://www.avira.com/en/products/avira_antivir_premium.html) on my computer.

Sorry for the delay. I didn't receive the corresponding alert on your response.

Thanks in advance.

HiAlvaro Amador,

·        What type of scan are you performing?

·        Is it express or custom scan?

You may try restarting the Windows defender service and check if it helps. Follow the below steps:

a.     Click on start

b.     In the search box type in services.msc

c.      Open services window and search for Windows defender service

d.     Right click on the service and select Stop

e.     To restart right click and select start

Still no luck!

By the way, I haven't received any alerts about your answers. I think there's something wrong with the alert system.

Anyway, I'll keep this weird message in the Action Center because it's harmless.
