Windows Defender Health Report Can't Be Disabled After Creators Update

Hi there,

I found an issue with Windows Defender after Creators Update.

The health report can not be ignored or changed.

It keeps saying that I need to set Sleep time and lower Adjust my screen brightness.

The Defender is with an Exclamation Mark although my PC is in perfect state.

Please consider this issue.

Regards,

Vladimir

I'm sure everyone has seen this issue I have on all three Ive setup I Have had same issue  I went into defender scan my system and tried saving the log then I went to cloud setting and turned that from on to off then I turned it  back on ,my settings checked there was no reason for yellow Exclamation mark it did change green tick when I turned the cloud off back on and checked if there were any settings available for the health report, there was a log there by this time which I had green ticks the problem I found over the last three days on three machines they all react same with the health report.

I noticed it was deleted gone from health report area it has disappeared caused that from cleaning my temp files on auto so that is what I believe causes that issue. If I find another I will come back to re post in search for the right answer.

I am having this very same issue.  Just got off of chat with microsoft and they know about it, and are working on it.  He didn't have a solution for this issue as of yet.

Also happens with disabled devices. I don't want the Health Report to constantly nag me if I manually disable a device in device manager.

Same here.

Mine is for my Cisco miniport adapter which is only enabled when I connect to the VPN client.

Mine keeps telling me that I need to enable two devices that I wish to keep disabled.  I don't use them and them being enabled interferes with my sound card.  It also keeps telling me to run the troubleshooter and restart my system, of which neither need to be done.  There needs to be a way to disable this stupid thing.

Although this is a relatively minor issue, it is one of the many many little quirks that continue to plague Windows 10 and what makes Windows 10 so laborious to use... and it also demonstrates the inefficacy of the Insider Program. This is simply a head-slapping quirk where you wonder what were they thinking and why didn't Windows Insider catch this?

I also have a VPN adapter that's disabled most of the time. Having a constant warning icon tends to make me ignore actual issues

For me, it's a wireless adapter that I had installed in a PC for when it was in a certain room during an office renovation.  I didn't feel like removing it, so I just disabled it, once I was back in the office with a physical connection again.  Very annoying, hope they fix it soon.

I get this same stupid notification for having my screen brightness turned all the way up and can't turn it off - even by sayIng "Yeah, OK Microsoft I know," as you have to do in other applications, which is annoying enough! Ridiculous.
