Windows Crashed and now I can’t connect to wifi

Was on my laptop and then windows crashed and said it was restarting, I didn’t write down what the error was in the bottom left. It then stayed at 0% for over an hour and so eventually I just forced a restart. Now when I turn it on it says no available connections and doesn’t show any wifi networks to connect to. When I try troubleshooting it just says possible solution networking reset which I’ve tried and restarted my computer many times. When I go into my device manager, the Intel wireless driver has a yellow warning symbol on it, and when I go to its properties it says “Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware. (Code 37) The driver was not loaded because it failed its initialization call. I tried going to update driver but it says windows has determined the best driver is already installed, and I have no wifi to search for a better one on windows website. When I did this, I checked the events tab and it says Device configured and then the next event is Device not started (Netwtw08). Not sure what to do. Should I try to install the driver on another computer and transfer it to reinstall? Is it a hardware issue?

Hi Finesso,

I'm Dyari. Thanks for reaching out. I will be happy to assist you in this regard.

May I know if you have installed drivers from any third-party tools? Are you using any third-party Security software? If yes disable it temporarily.

Since you have no Wifi, kindly connect your computer with an ethernet cable if possible, then download and install the latest Wifi driver only from the manufacturer's official website.

If you are unable to use the Ethernet port, download the compatible driver from another working computer, then install it on your computer.

So I plugged in a wireless wifi usb device that enabled me to get internet connection on my laptop and installed the latest version of the intel wireless driver AC 9462. I ran the exe and even uninstalled the wireless driver and reinstalled it with the newest version which I downloaded. There is still a yellow warning symbol and the same error message in device status:

Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware. (Code 37)

The driver was not loaded because it failed its initialization call.

When I go to the driver's events tab, it has this error on the event titled Device not started:

Device PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A370&SUBSYS_42A48086&REV_10\3&11583659&0&A3 had a problem starting.

Kindly click on Start > Type system information and hit enter > Take a screenshot and post it back.

Would you please send me the link to which you have downloaded the driver?

Go to Device Manager > Double click on the Wireless driver > Details > Change Property to Hardware Ids > Copy the first id and paste it here.

Thanks for sharing the screenshots, Finesso.

I have searched for your computer model, here you can update the Network driver from the manufacturer's official website:
https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-ae/product...

Try all available network drivers to see which one works.

If it did not help, probably there is a third-party software or antivirus that prevents it from functioning. Disable your antivirus temporarily. If you installed suspicious software so far, uninstall it.

You can also perform a system restore and restore the system to the point that it functioned well:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/rec....

If the issue still persists, I suggest performing a clean install.

If the issue is not solved, probably the issue is hardware related and it is best to take it to a reliable maintenance shop for hardware checks.

Please feel free to ask if you need further assistance.
