"Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu."

I'm having trouble installing Windows on my Asus laptop. I keep getting the error: "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu." I've already tried several troubleshooting steps, including cleaning the drive using CMD, converting it between GPT and MBR, enabling and disabling CSM in the BIOS (though disabling it prevents my laptop from detecting my bootable USB), and setting the SATA mode to AHCI. Despite all of this, I still can't proceed with the installation. I also read that AHCI and ATA settings were changed in recent versions, so I'm unsure if that’s affecting the process. I’d really appreciate any guidance on how to resolve this issue. Thank you in advance for your help!

Hello ,  Eddy_FromPH

Welcome to Microsoft Community.

According to the description, I understand your situation. There are some similar cases for reference, and other brands of devices have also encountered this issue. This problem is commonly seen when installing the system using the Windows 10 installation tool. The reason is a problem with the BIOS configuration.

Important note: Modifying the BIOS to reinstall the system will cause the hard drive partition to be formatted. Please back up all data on your disk and related accounts before proceeding with the following operations to avoid any loss. After entering the BIOS, find the last item, EXIT or RESTART, select "OS Optimized" and change it to "Enabled", then press F9 or FN+F9 and select "YES" to restore the BIOS default values, and press F10 to save. Re-initiate the installation afterwards.

BIOS settings vary from brand to brand, if the above reference does not work, please contact the hardware manufacturer for further confirmation (ASUS).

Best wishes
