This error means your PC has a UEFI BIOS that uses GPT partition formatting, but the installation media has been booted in Legacy and not UEFI mode.  To correct this the media must be booted as a UEFI or EFI device, then delete all partitions to get it cleanest and begin install.

This is all explained along with everything else needed to get and keep a perfect install in Clean Reinstall Windows 10.

There are also several backup options suggested including using the 15gb free cloud storage MS Onedrive provides when you sign into Windows 10 with a MS account.  So you can store your files to the cloud by dragging them into the OneDrive folder to upload to the cloud, confirm they are  all there, then after reinstall the files will be there in the OneDrive folder waiting.
