Windows Apps Keep Crashing Upon Opening

I am on Windows 11 and trying to open Windows Security but when clicked on the window pops up and closes immediately. I tried resseting it but it didn't work so I tried removing it through cmd and reinstalling it through Microsoft Store, but now Microsoft Store has the same exact problem. I tried following some instructions from someone online and even tried installing Windows 11 again on my PC while keeping my files but it doesn't seem to solve the problem.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with Windows Security and the Microsoft Store on your Windows 11 system. It sounds like you have already tried a few troubleshooting steps without success.

One potential solution you could try is running the Windows Update Troubleshooter to see if it can identify and fix any issues with Windows Security or the Microsoft Store. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Press the Windows key + I to open the Settings app.
2. Go to Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
3. Click on Additional troubleshooters.
4. Scroll down and select Windows Update, then click on Run the troubleshooter.

If the troubleshooter doesn't resolve the issue, you may want to consider performing a system restore to a point before the problem started occurring. This can help revert any changes that may have caused the issue.

If all else fails, you may need to consider contacting Microsoft support for further assistance. They may be able to provide more specific guidance or solutions to help resolve the issue you are facing.

I hope this information is helpful and that you are able to resolve the issue with Windows Security and the Microsoft Store on your Windows 11 system.

Unfortunately because it is a newly built pc I don’t have any backups to restore the system. Do I have to reinstall Windows 11 and lose my files if that is the case?

Reinstalling Windows 11 should be considered a last resort. There are several steps you can take to try and resolve the VPN issue without losing your files. Here’s a comprehensive approach to fixing the problem:

1. Repair System Files
Run a system file check to ensure all system files are intact.

1. Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
2. Run the following command:
```
sfc /scannow
```
3. After the scan completes, run:
```
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
```

2. Check for Windows Updates
Ensure your Windows installation is up to date.

1. Open Settings.
2. Go to Update & Security > Windows Update.
3. Click Check for updates.

3. Create a Backup
Before attempting any major changes or a potential reinstallation, create a backup of your important files.

1. Connect an external drive.
2. Copy your important files and folders to the external drive.

11. Use Built-in Troubleshooters
Windows has built-in troubleshooters that might help.

1. Open Settings.
2. Go to Update & Security > Troubleshoot.

Final Resort: Reinstall Windows 11
If none of the above steps work, you can perform a reinstallation of Windows 11 without losing your files. This is called an in-place upgrade.

1. Download the Windows 11 Installation Media from the [Microsoft website](https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/win...).
2. Run the setup and choose Upgrade this PC now.
3. Select Keep personal files and apps during the setup process.

This should reinstall Windows 11 while keeping your files intact. However, it's always wise to back up important data before proceeding with the reinstallation.

In-place Upgrade Steps

1. Download the Windows 11 ISO from the official Microsoft website.
2. Mount the ISO file by right-clicking and selecting Mount.
3. Run setup.exe from the mounted ISO.
4. Follow the prompts and select Keep personal files and apps.
5. Proceed with the installation.

This process should resolve system-related issues without losing your files.
