Windows Activation text appears and disappears regularly.

Often times, im still figuring out what trggers it, the text will appear in the corner of my screens saying my Copy of Windows is not Genuine. But once I go to the System (Computer) properties, the info loads (status and Product ID) and the text disappears. It is not a big issue, but I wish I could make it stop. Windows 7 Ultimate x64

This is caused by a 'race condition' where the Software Protection Service is fighting with another program for access to critical system files - the problem is usually associated with anti-virus programs.

Most of the time, it disappears after a few days - but occasionally it seems to hit a brick wall and continue until you either change teh interfering program or reinstall it.

Try a "Clean Boot", this may help you identify the race condidition that Noel mentioned.

If after clean booting several times you do not see the "not Genuine" message, then one at a time add back one application back and reboot to find the offending software app.
