Windows 8.1 Download (on multiple machines)
I know that the Windows 8.1 update is available through the Windows store, however, I have about four computers that I need to install the update on and don't want to have to download the update on every computer individually. Is there some way to avoid this. In the past (with service packs) Microsoft would always release "Network Installation Packs" that I put on the server and all the computers accessed. I haven't heard of anything like this for 8.1. Is it perhaps possible to pull the update out of a cache somewhere for the Windows Store?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Allen Howard

As of this time a separate download file has not been posted on the Microsoft Store's web site, keep checking back at a later time.

Microsoft, when you announced that the update would have to be applied to each and every customer, I thought that was painful and that the update would be small, but today I started the task of upgrading our Windows 8 computers and discovered the update was 3.63 GB in size. The first upgrade has been downloading for half an hour and is less that half way through the down.
One of our executives walked by and I commented on the "3.63GB download for each and every computer", and all I should say is they were not impressed. We have 30 computers, fortunately for me, I was stopped by management from rolling out Windows 8 so we only have four computers to update. Just another reason for management to stay with Windows 7.
Fortunately we have unlimited bandwidth at 10/10Mbps, which I consider fast. Many businesses are running 256/512Kbps ADSL. And what are home users going to do? If they use mobile broadband this is likely to blow they monthly allowance.
How about free DVD's or very low priced DVD's from local shops or from the Microsoft web site?
All I can say is that Microsoft sure knows how to insult their customer base !
Well Microsoft has not removed the Charms, or the FULL SCREEN START SCREEN so I guess they will be just as stubborn and force everyone to find decent bandwidth to download 3.63GB on each and every Windows 8 computer they own. Fortunately not too many people have purchased Windows 8 as yet. Will Windows 8.2 or Windows 8.3 be this bad ?

I should have know better to update from 8 to 8.1... all my video games look like I'm watching a 3D movie with out the glasses. Java is freaking out saying the right version is installed while IE is freaking out saying the version in incompatible. I go to Nvidia's website to use the auto detect and it needs Java. I already hate Java and its ASK toolbar and search it always want me to install. If I do the manual video driver install, it says I have the right driver, yet my games still wont work, and the Java Icon just popped up again as I'm typing this wanting me to update Java again...
I should have read the 8.1 info more clearly before doing it... I figured it was like a service pack for the new generation.
Now I have to back up all my files and re-install 8 from scratch along with all my settings if I want to play my games or get IE and Java to play nice again.
Also it wants me to redo my Microsoft live account and back up account information or phone numbers which is already overkill for my home gaming PC.
Other than that the download and update worked... my system restarted, I'm using it now but all I can do is use Office or surf the web that doesn't need Java...
Horrible Update... DO NOT waste your time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
