Windows 8.1 64 bit Installation problem !!

Hi everyone !

While installing 64-bit windows 8.1, one of my friends, got a message : " You can't install windows 8.1 because your processor dose not support perfectchW ! " He can install & use 32-bit version.

At first I thought that the CPU doesn't support 64-bit installation, but considering that he had a 64-bit windows 7 installed, I'm pretty sure that I was wrong. Could you please help me (in fact my friend) in this issue ? TNX everyone !

Hi Saied Alizade,

Please answer these questions to get more clarity on this issue.

  • What is the make and model of the processor in your computer?

  • Did you run the Upgrade Assistant?

  • What is the make and model of the computer?

If your PC doesn't support PAE, NX, and SSE2, you won’t be able to install Windows 8.1. Physical Address Extension (PAE), NX processor bit (NX), and Streaming SIMD Extensions 2 (SSE2) are features of the processor, and they're needed to run Windows 8.1.

Windows 8.1 Upgrade Assistant will tell you if your PC can run Windows 8.1, and then provides a compatibility report and optional steps for you to buy, download, and install Windows.
