Windows 8 with ESET NOD 32 slows down the laptop

I just bought a new Lenovo IdeaPad Y500 with Windows 8 installed. While installing the ESET NOD32 Antivirus I got a message that using it together with Defender may cause system slow down. After the instalation my laptop became unusable. It slowed down to the level of one mouse click per minute. Do you think that the Defender causes this slowdown or is it something else?
There have been numerous problems with all third party security software and Windows 8, t65hey just don't always play nice.What others have done to solve this- and what I recommend- is to uninstall the third party software and turn on Windows Defender and Windows Firewall. Windows Defender is more than adequate to protect your computer in Windows 8. Hope this helps and if you need further assistance post and we will be glad to assist you.
