Hi Kan,

  1. How do you know that the font is changed to wingdings on logon screen? What exactly do you see in the logon screen?
  2. Which account are you using to log-in? Is it a Microsoft Account or Local Account?
  3. I am not sure why the font changed to Wingding. Did you do something that involved using that font?

Let's first use these steps and check if you are able to fix the log-in issue.

a. On the log-on screen hold Windows key + Spacebar.

b. Now change the input language and type the password check if it works.

Please post with the issue status.

okay, i've followed those steps and nothing happened - still the same thing x.x

---

1. I don't know if it's exactly wingdings - it's just some arrows, squares and circles, like the ones on the wingdings font.
First, the screen with the clock turned blue and with that damn font. then, the users screen appeared correctly, but in wingdings and after trying to log in, a black screen appears and go back to the blue screen that I talked about before

2. Local, i think =/

3. i think it have some connection with a weird error with the .net frameworks who cames recently - i used ccleaner to clear some registry error. in the same day, just played games and used the skype: no downloads, mails or facebook

thanks for the help and sorry for the bad english '-'

Hi Kan,

  1. Any recent changes made to the computer?
  2. What is the exact error message relating to .net framework?

If it is a recent event you may try system restore and check if it helps.

I have this exact same issue. Circles and arrows etc appearing on the login screen. When you put in the correct password, it flashes black and goes back to the login page.

You obviously can't use system restore/advanced boot options because you cannot login. What fix is there that doesn't require logging in to change boot settings?

sorry for late reply x.x

1. Nope. Anything that i could remember.

2. Something saying that ManagerWindows.exe couldn't run due to a .net framework error. Sorry, i can't remember all the things right now, but i remember that some programs also didnt work and showed me this error.

----------

okay, even without the installation disk (broked =/), I could access the ASO and restore the system to the previous point, the problem with the font is gone, but another arose. Every time I start Windows, after entering my user, an error message  appears, telling me to reinstall the .NET Framework. ALL the  programs that need the Framework no longer work (probably have some connection with that weird wingdings bug and that previous error).
How do I solve this, remembering that I dont have the Windows 8 install disk and I have no internet?

Hi Kan,

  1.  Which Antivirus software are you using?
  2. Did you perform Antivirus scan recently after installing Windows Update?

If you run Antivirus Scan after installing Windows Update it may corrupt the Windows Fonts. In this scenario, most of the Windows fonts on the computer may not be registered. Additionally, the default Windows display font becomes a symbol font such as Wingdings or Webdings. When a symbol font is used as the default display font, you may not be able to read the UI where this font is used.

You can use the Install New Font feature to register all the fonts. This lets you select readable fonts. However, when you restart the computer again, the fonts are not registered.

Please get back with more information so that we can asssit you better.

1. I use Avira, and i scan PC every week.
2. I've said that i don't have internet, so, how i will install any windows update???

I think the wingdings bug is related to that dotNET Framework error.
But,like i said, the problem with wingdings font just gone when i've restored the system with ASO, but now i'm getting some weird bugs with the dotNET and i don't have any restore point that can solve this; I don't have internet connection to download .NET and also i don't have the windows disk anymore to reinstall framework.

There's some way to fix?

Hi Kan,

1. Are you referring to Advanced System Optimizer (ASO)?

If yes, this software can cause harm to the computer

2. What exactly did you do with this software?

3. What bugs are you referring to?

4. When exactly do you get the .net framework error and what is the exact message?

1. No, advanced startup options. I've accessed this from the bios.
2. I've used ASO to restore the PC to a previous point. After this...
3-4. Soon after I recovered the computer using the ASO, programs that need dotNET doesn't run anymore. When I try to open the program, it simply closes. And when I turn on the computer, after the logon screen, an error pops up saying that ManagerWindows.exe couldn't run due to a .net framework error.  This error has happened before, before the problem with the wingdings,
but the programs were running normally and how my windows 8 DVD brokes and I had no internet, i don't have tried to fix it.
